JOHN MILLINGTON SYNGE.
Born April 16, 1871, Rathfarnham, County Dublin, Ireland. Educated
Trinity College, Dublin. Further educated himself by reading
and travel on foot in France, Bavaria, and Italy. At the suggestion
of W.B. Yeats returned to Ireland. Lived in Aran Islands. Newspaper
writer and dramatist. Died March 24, 1909. Author of The Aran
Islands, 1907; In Wicklow, In West Kerry, etc., 1906, 1907. PLAYS:

The Well of the Saints, 1905; The Playboy of the Western
